Pre-event: Research Project on the Senses—Any Point “P” in the Domain of Sensations

Artist IMAMURA Ryosuke and blind artist MITSUSHIMA Takayuki, who are engaged in a continuing dialogue about “the senses,” will exhibit their works and invite guests to lead workshops. The event is a research program the two artists will conduct as a prelude to an exhibition* they are scheduled to hold in February 2025. Visitors will have chances to experience how other people’s senses differ from their own, share the differences in their values, and seek out possibilities for creative expression in their experience of each other’s worlds. In the exhibition scheduled for 2025, Imamura and Mitushima will exhibit the new works they create on the basis of their research.

* Exhibition “Project on the Senses—Any Point “P” in the Domain of Sensations”: After holding this pre-event and conducting a research project with invited guests, the artists will hold an exhibition to present the project’s results and a record of its findings. At that time, selected works previously displayed in the 2023 Kyoto exhibition, IMAMURA Ryosuke x MITSUSHIMA Takayuki “The Edge of the Senses,” will also be displayed. The exhibition is scheduled to be held from February to May 2025.
